The 15th Annual Resistance International Film Festival has announced the names of three Iranian films that will participate in the International section of the film event.
'Underwater Cypress' directed by Mohammad Ali Bashe Ahangar, 'The Lost Strait' directed by Bahram Tavakkoli, and 'Midday Event' directed by Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian are the three films that will be representing Iran in the International section of the film festival.
'Underwater Cypress' (2018) is the fascinating story of a group of Iran's unknown minority martyrs and the journey they began which changes their lives.
'The Lost Strait' (2018) is centered around the final days of the Iran-Iraq war. As soldiers from three generations prepare to return home to their families, an untimely attack on a strategic border area forces them to make a tough choice between defending their country or returning home to their loved ones.
'Midday Event' (2017) is a movie about the terrorist atrocities of the notorious terrorist group known as the MKO who targeted officials of the Islamic Republic in its early days and the team of Iranian Security Operatives who hunt them down.
These films will be competing with other films from around the world that were selected for the International section of the film festival.
The Resistance International Film Festival (RIFF) is regarded as one of the most prestigious international film festivals in Iran. The goal of the festival is to create an atmosphere of dialogue, understanding of current human sufferings, and to share experiences and new ideas.
The 15th edition of the festival is set to be held in Tehran on November 26-30, 2018 .
